Even more compact than the Coolpix A and Coolpix A10 models, the A100 comes with a sleek, minimalist and really slim design for you to keep anywhere. Its intuitive and very simple interface will make us enjoy all its functions in a very short time and this will affect our results. Obviously, improving them.
The A100 improves the performance of the two previous cameras by gaining in resolution and, therefore, offering higher quality images. The sensor of the A100 has a resolution of 20.1 MP that not only captures unforgettable images but also allows us to record videos in high resolution. In this aspect is where the only major problem is: like its predecessors, we are able to record videos in Full HD quality.
This can mean discarding this camera by many users since, in the market, we can find multitude of cameras that record in Full HD or even in 4K. For example: Panasonic Lumix LC15 and Sony RX100 Mark IV. Of course, allowing this latter feature means a considerable increase in price.
Except for this small “stick”, the Coolpix A100 has a resolution of 20.1 MP to capture high quality images. It incorporates the NIKKOR lens of the previous Coolpix A with capacity to zoom of 5x or even of the double with the function Dynamic Fine Zoom.
We also find other similarities with the other models as the automatic scene selector or reduction of motion blur. Both functions help us to achieve the best result.
And new features that we do not find in the above mentioned cameras are the panorama assistant; With which we can capture several shots to achieve a panoramic image with the highest quality. Another function is the Quick Effect that we can apply before firing to give personal touches to the images.
